A successful technology plan should include the nine following parts:
Mission:
The mission is the main goal or the general purpose that the school or the district works to obtain.
Vision:
The vision is the bath that the school or the district will follow to get a special target or several targets.
Shared Values:
This part contains the believe statement of the school and the values that should be shared in the school.
Needs Assessment:
Knowing the areas that need to be improved by using technology surveys either between teachers, staff, or resources, and then provide the solutions and the professional development.
Goals and Strategies:
Goals show the targets that the school is working to achieve by following certain steps or strategies for each goal. For each goal: describe the activity, the strategy would be used, responsible person, timeline for implementation, and resources.
Staff Development:
Using the district survey results to provide the staff the appropriate courses and training hours to keep pace with new technology.
Budget:
Budget contains a summary of potential funding distribution. It shows the funding source for each year, and how much spent for each goal.
Monitoring:
This part shows who and when will monitor the goals of the technology plan throughout the life of the plan.
Evaluation:
Evaluation part explains the sections or the components that will be evaluated.

I think that the purpose of a technology plan is to describe the technology equipment and system and how the technology is used by students, teachers, and staff. So, the technology plan absolutely is beneficial because it involves assessing the current technology and defining the future needs. Also, it helps the school make good spending decisions on technology. The school could utililize the information from a technology plan by following the plan, and keep assessing and evaluating the school’s technology and the technology plan itself.
